Do I need a credit card to rent a car in Crete?
No. You can rent without a credit card — pay with cash or debit card at pickup.
Is a deposit required?
No deposit is needed. What you see is what you pay — no hidden fees.
What documents do I need?
A valid driver's license and your passport or ID card.
What is the minimum age to rent?
Drivers 21+ rent normally. Drivers 18–20 can rent with a small young-driver fee.
Is mileage unlimited?
Yes — our rental cars come with unlimited kilometers.
What is the fuel policy?
Same-to-Same: return the car with the same fuel level as at pickup. Optionally get a full tank at pickup for +€80.
Are child seats available?
Yes — baby seats and boosters are free. Just select them when booking online.
How do I pay?
You pay at pickup — card or cash, whichever you prefer. No prepayment needed.
What is the insurance excess?
Every rental includes full insurance (CDW) with an excess of €1,200 — the most you would ever pay towards damage, whatever the repair costs. Windows, tyres and mirrors are covered by the same policy. The underside of the car is not covered, so please avoid unpaved roads.
Is an additional driver free?
Yes. A second driver costs nothing — just bring their driving licence when you collect the car so we can add them to the contract.
Are the prices inclusive of VAT?
Yes. Every price on this site already includes VAT. The amount you see when booking is the amount you pay.
Can I rent with a US or other non-EU driving licence?
Yes. We accept national driving licences from the USA, Canada, Australia and other non-EU countries — you can collect your car with your licence and passport, nothing else. Greek traffic law does still require an International Driving Permit alongside a non-EU licence, so we recommend getting one before you travel: your national motoring association issues it in minutes, and it protects you if the police stop you or if there is an accident. EU and EEA licences need nothing extra.
